Who We Are…

I think this is where we’re supposed to put a catchy, world-changing mission statement but uh…yeah, we don’t have one. The truth is Biff and I were out on a jog one day in NW Aurora and we were talking about the great potential for this area to develop into something special. With nearby amenities like the Central Park neighborhood and the Anschutz Medical Campus, it seemed like an area that was bound to improve. Plus, there was this project called the “Stanley Marketplace” that was being envisioned, and if that happened it could really take things in a good direction.

We caught our breath and talked about maybe buying some property over here but I’m sure we both figured the idea would go nowhere (that’s the destination of most of our ideas…thankfully). Not 30 seconds later we spotted a “for sale by owner sign” on the window of a boarded up spray painted building. We called to investigate.

Fast forward a few months down the road and we were the proud owners of a blighted building…now what? We believed in the upside of the area but what were we going to do with the building?

“What about coworking?” Joe said. (I’m not sure if I used the word “coworking” exactly, as I’m pretty sure we didn’t know what that meant.) I did know that with three little kids I needed a place to get out of the house and work. Maybe others in the area need the same thing? There didn’t seem to be a lot of convenient and affordable options for people who work remotely.  Biff’s response....Why Not?

We did a quick renovation, put out a blog post and found seven coworkers to jump in and join us! Fast forward almost a decade and Progress has grown into a welcoming community of people getting to know each other and getting their work done.

Is it perfect? Not even close…but it’s progress! Come join us on the adventure.
